I was the strong, motivated girl. I was teaching yoga, I ran a marathon and I obtained three degrees. I lived and preached this so called healthy lifestyle and all the while I was teetering on a drinking problem.
I’ve learned to have FUN without needing any loosening up. When I quit substances, I had to face some challenges I had been avoiding. Doing some healing around this and getting comfortable in my own skin, I now don’t feel the urge to self-medicate.
I decided to spend my 30th year sober to learn more about myself and my relationship with alcohol. I’ve been blogging about it since the beginning. I never had an official “rock bottom”, but looking back, my entire party girl lifestyle was a cry for help.
